Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information SmithTag (“SmithTag”, “we”, or “us”) collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using SmithTag, you agree to this policy.

Information we collect

• Account information. When you sign in, we collect your email address. We use passwordless magic-link sign-in, so we do not store passwords.
• Content you provide. The product photos you upload and the listings we generate for you (titles, descriptions, tags, and selling points). These are saved to your account so you can revisit them in your History.
• Usage information. Your credit balance, generation activity, and basic technical data such as your IP address, which we use to keep your account working and to prevent abuse.
• Payment information. If you buy credits, payments are handled by our payment provider (Stripe). We do not see or store your full card details.

How we use your information

• To generate listings from the photos you upload and deliver the service.
• To maintain your account, credits, and saved history.
• To protect the service against abuse, fraud, and technical problems.
• To process payments and provide support.

AI processing and service providers

To create your listings, the photos and text you submit are sent to our AI provider for processing. We rely on a small number of trusted providers who process data on our behalf:

• Anthropic — generates your listing copy from your photo.
• Supabase — stores your account, listings, and uploaded photos.
• Vercel — hosts the website.
• Upstash — rate limiting to protect the service.
• Resend — sends your sign-in emails.
• Stripe — processes payments, if you buy credits.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your photos to train our own AI models.

Data retention

We keep your account information, saved listings, and uploaded photos for as long as your account is active. You can delete individual listings at any time, or contact us to close your account and remove the associated data.

Your choices and rights

You can view your saved listings in your History and delete content you no longer want. You can also delete your account and everything in it at any time from your Account page, or request a copy of your data by emailing us. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA.

Cookies

We use a single essential cookie to keep you signed in. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

Children

SmithTag is not intended for anyone under 16, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date shown above.
